Saturday the men started the weekend with a morning game against Copenhagen Black Swans. Gentofte came into the game as big favorites, but the first 15 minutes was more a battle of the midfield. Gentofte was more on the ball, but the big chances was not really created in the beginning.
However, in the second part of the first half Gentofte sat a higher pace and the passing and running for the ball was much better. In this period Gentofte scored 4 goals, and basically closed the game before the Swans took one back just before the break to halftime result of 4-1.
In the second half Gentofte was more the ball and wave after wave came towards the Swans goal, and Swans was lurking on the counter. In this half Gentofte many open opportunities to put more goals in the board but the ball would not go over the line. Swans on the other way took one back on their first corner in the game to the final result of 4-2.
In the next weeks, amounts other thing, the focus will be on penalty corners where the Gentofte had 9 and none where correctly executed. Christian Fernandez was voted Man of the Match for his big workload.
Next time the Gentofte men is in the fire is at home against Odin on the 15th of September. But we expect to play a practice game in between.
On Sunday the U16 played their first game this season. The team travelled to Kalundborg to play a strong opponent. Gentofte created quite a lot
of chances but it the goal the ball would not go. In the other end Gentofte fought well but let some big gaps for the Kalundborg strikers. The game was lost 4-0, but there is a lot to build on, and we have high hopes for the rest of the season.
Also Sunday morning the U10 travelled to Slagelse to play two games. With some cancellations the team went to play with only 7 players, but Coach Lynn got the team to give all the kids had and therefore the team could travel back with two wins 3-0 over Slagelse and 2-1 over Sørbymagle. Segolene had her first games in the goal and did a great work.
The team can look forward to the next couple of game days before going in the hall. Next games is in Odense on the 22nd. September.
Coach Lynn and Asger keep the good work going!
Back home at Gentofte Stadion another U6 practice took place along with Kom og vær med. Yet again 16 kids and their parents participated and had a great morning. We look forward to many more kids and parents to visit us the next weeks.
