On Saturday the U12 team went to Slagelse to play one game against the allready champions Odin. Odin had won all 8 games in the season before the game.
The game was intense and with great discipline through the game where Odin was mostly on the ball and Gentofte waiting for the counter and stood very well in the defense.
With pressure on the Odin defenders Gentofte tried to turn the game quickly around but the shots on goal was not at the best quality.
As less time was on the clock in the second half both teams were looking to explore the other team’s mistakes, and Gentofte gave three corners away in that period. Goalie Johan must be mentioned as he on all three penalty corners saved the drag flick with his stick high in the roof of the goal.
Therefore, the game ended as it started 0-0 and delivering the only point loss to Odin in the season. Then it was only to wait and see the last two games and hope Sørby Magle would not get a win, and both games were lost. That meant that Gentofte could travel back home from Slagelse with the bronze around the neck.
Thanks to the other teams in the league. The games have been close through the hole season, and congrats to Odin and Slagelse with the gold and silver medal.
Both U12 and U14 will keep on practicing till the 28th of June before it is time for a little summer break.
Here we go!
