Yesterday the mens had their first game of the second half of the season. Slagelse visited Gentofte Stadion on a beautiful sunny evening.
A young, fit Slagelse team didn’t take long to explore the hosts hospitality, and after 20 minutes game Slagelse was in front with 3-0 before Gentofte took one back. In the last five minutes of the half Slagelse basically closed the game with three goals to the halftime result of 6-1.
Coach Uta spoke with big words in the break and Gentofte came out with a better structure in the second half, but Slagelse head still many opportunities in the second half. But strong goalkeeping kept the score down. Gentofte made two goals in the second, but Slagelse made four to the result of 10-3.
A fitter and more willing to move team from Slagelse made the difference today. Still there was a good spirit after the game and high hopes for the next games.
Gentofte goes down to second spot in the 1. Division as Slagelse moves past Gentofte but with a game in hand. The mens can take the leader position back next Thursday against Lyngby.
Man of the match was with 8 votes Asger, who delivered multiple triple and quadruple saves in the game.
Gentofte wishes Slagelse good luck in Switzerland at the Euro challenge I next weekend.
